Eight of the world’s top cricketing nations will be represented when the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals take place in London this summer. University teams from test powerhouse countries such as Australia, India, South Africa and England will compete to win the only global T20 tournament held at this level.
The teams will compete in round robin stages held at a ground described as the most beautiful in England, Wormsley cricket ground, with the top four teams prevailing to the finals day, to be held at the Kia Oval on Saturday 26th July.
The finals day, which is set to be a multi-cultural celebration of cricket, will offer the chance for the final four teams to play at one of the best test cricket grounds in the world, testing their skills on the grandest of stages.
Stuart Broad, who will be battling it out at the same ground against India later in the Summer said, “ Red Bull Campus Cricket provides a great platform for cricketers to compete on a world stage, challenging themselves against the best, with the opportunity to win not only the tournament but perhaps a professional contract’”
Red Bull Campus Cricket is a T20 cricket tournament for university cricket teams. The respective teams have each won national qualifiers to represent their countries at the world finals.
The countries that will be represented at the world finals are: England, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies.
