This weekend the Pitch team turned their attention away from sport and onto one of the biggest music events in the UK as we made our way down to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for Yahoo! Wireless. With the weather scorching and an incredible 3 day line-up of world class artists including Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris and Rita Ora to name a few, Yahoo! Wireless was set to attract big crowds and even bigger celebrity faces.
Yahoo! signed as headline sponsors for this year’s festival and Pitch was there to promote the new partnership and entice down as many celebrities as possible into the Yahoo! VIP garden to get all the backstage news and gossip that we could use not only across the Yahoo! channels but also to seed out to media. The VIP area did not disappoint as we saw a number of celebs getting up to a bit of mischief as they drank a variety of cocktails, tried their hand at a hole in one on the mini putting green and posed in the Flickr booth.
Friday night went off with a bang as recently split TOWIE couple Tom Kilby and Lydia Bright were seen getting cosy while watching Justin Timberlake and Pitch was there to take full advantage of this exciting news! Saturday was no let down as we were joined by James Argent who was close to being ‘kindly’ removed from the area after a few too many free drinks, and Joey Essex who decided to pull a girl out of the crowd and bring her back to the area for a bit of one on one time!
Over the course of the three days, we were joined by the likes of model Jourdan Dunn, presenters Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore, tennis star Laura Robson, and music stars Little Mix.
If that wasn’t enough, we also caught up with Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge, Helen Flanagan, Lewis Hamilton, David Haye, Daisy Lowe and Zoe Hardman who were all chilling in our VIP garden for the day.
Over the 3 days Pitch got some great snaps, all the exclusive backstage gossip, and we even managed to get a picture of a-list star Nicole Sherzinger as she arrived last minute to see Jay Z and JT. As the final day came to a close and the festival was wrapping up, we set eyes on even more gossip…. Rihanna spotted walking on stage to surprise a very excited crowd with a special appearance with Jay Z. OMG! sums it up perfectly!
